In Memory of Devon

On September 10, 2022, my twin brother Devon tragically passed away from overheating after using ecstasy at BeukenXL. This page is dedicated to his memory and aims to prevent similar tragedies.

Responsible Drug Use at Raves

Ecstasy (MDMA), 3MMC, and 4MMC:

  • Know Your Limits: Always start with a lower dose to understand how your body reacts.
  • Test Your Drugs: Use drug testing kits to ensure the substance is what you think it is. Impurities can be dangerous.
  • Stay Cool: Avoid crowded, overheated areas. Take breaks to cool down and rest.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink water regularly, but don't overdo it. A small sip every 20-30 minutes is ideal.
  • Dosage Caution: Only take more if you feel it's necessary and avoid taking extra doses if you're already feeling good. Overconsumption increases the risk of adverse effects.

Other Substances:

  • Do Your Research: Understand the effects, risks, and interactions of any substance you plan to take.
  • Avoid Mixing: Combining different drugs can be unpredictable and dangerous.
  • Have a Plan: Know who to contact and where to go if someone needs medical help.

Hydration Tips

  • Drink Water Regularly: Aim for a small sip every 20-30 minutes.
  • Avoid Overhydration: Too much water can be harmful. Balance your intake with electrolytes.
  • Take Breaks: Step away from the dance floor to cool down and hydrate.

Recognizing Overheating

  • Early Signs: Excessive sweating, dizziness, and feeling very hot.
  • Advanced Symptoms: Confusion, nausea, rapid heartbeat, and fainting.
  • Action Steps: Move to a cooler area, hydrate, and seek medical help immediately if symptoms worsen.
